Dec 11, 2012

Saint Petersburg, Russia, December 11th, 2012 – Terex Cranes is proud to announce that Lider Group a major residential and commercial construction company in Russia has signed an order for 20 Terex® CTT 161A-8 TS Flat Top tower cranes with the company’s Russian tower crane distributor, RLS STC GRUZOPODEMNYE MASHINY, based in Saint Petersburg.

Produced at the Terex Cranes facility in Fontanafredda, Italy, and with the ability to lift loads up to 8 tonnes (8.8 US t) and 1.4 tonnes (1.6 US t) at 65-meter (213.3-ft) maximum jib length, all 20 units feature the state-of-the-art, pre-assembled Terex EVO 1 operator cab for quick set-up, excellent visibility and total operator comfort. Low temperature and collar kits have also been ordered for each model.

All 20 cranes will be delivered until the end of this year.

CTT 161A-8’s versatility to benefit Lider Group on two levels

Following strong growth over recent years, the Lider Group is counting on this order to leverage the combined benefits of lifting performance with the cost-efficiencies related to fleet ownership, as part of its extensive involvement in several large residential and commercial development projects throughout European Russia.

“The versatility and all-round lifting performance of the CTT 161A-8 TS is particularly well-suited for the intensive operation and scope of applications we need,” says Aleksandr Nikolaevich Nekrasov, Director, Lider Group.

Both lightweight and fast to erect, the Terex CTT 161A-8 TS combines the advantages of quick set-up time and low transportation costs with the additional convenience of its interchangeable tower and jib sections, which adapt to a broad range of lifting tasks. Thanks to its modular design, the space required for storage is also greatly reduced.

“Besides the savings we’ll make as the owners of a tower crane fleet dedicated to our needs, we are confident that when they are not on our jobsites, the advantages of renting cranes of this operating efficiency and capacity is something that other companies will be quick to seize,” says Nekrasov.

In the short term, the Lider Group will be operating its first Terex CTT 161A-8 TS models in the construction of the impressive “Captains Habor” project - one of Russia’s largest, ultra-modern residential complex developments in the port of Saint Petersburg.
